New fisher 1270

Just purchased a fisher 1270, really looking forward to learning it.Fairly new to mding so any tips would be welcomed. Thinking of purchasing the 10.5 in coil for it, was wondering if it gives it anymore depth? Thanks

By default it does..general rule Bigger the coil the deeper it goes.......But please remember when the companies say 20% deeper 15% deeper whatever
You must consider thats only a bit based on average of 7, or 8 inch depth.Do the math 15% of 7, or 8 isn't a great leap...Like all of us you get visions of deep deep deep, and you get let down. But also remember 7-8" on a dime in the ground is pretty good...

I had a fisher 1270 up until a couple years ago. I never should have gotten rid of it. I called it the coinslayer. I pulled a 1902 barber dime at a measured 10" in my front yard. NO JOKE! You will absolutely love the machine. I have a lower end garrett now and would go back to the 1270 in a second if I could.

10" on a dime is great depth..........You should have kept it my friend....................Sounds like you had a hot machine.I had a CZ5 that was extra hot and foolishly let it go................regretted it ever since
