I'm spoiled with my 2500. Cut the sensitivity down to 6 or 6.5, set it for coins or jewelery and play. Pinpointing can be a bit tricky until you get the hang of it with the imaging coils, lots of short back and forth, front to back movements and things will fall right in. Once you get used to the imaging, it's hard to go to anything without it. If a target is very shallow, it may show as being a large target. But lifting the coil a little will tell if it is shallow or big and deep. Happy Hunting.

Tips.......

-start off you hunts with your sensitivity set about 3/4 or less.
-hunt in coins mode for the first 5-10 hours, so you can used to the sounds
-when you get used to some of the sounds, try a relic mode
-use the true all metal mode in areas where the junk is minimal, yet known deep targets do or should exist
-when using the imaging feature, remember that the more centered you are over the target, the better accuracy you will get
-make sure you hunt using multiple tones
-Imaging accuracy starts to drop off at about 6 inches
-have fun  and as you get more hours on it, you will get more and more great finds in less time
-any problems, situations or questions, just ask!

Below is a setting which works good on Canadian clad

Scan slow as the 2500 has a lot of info to process and you can skip over targets. Keep your coil at least an inch off the ground. Centering the target correctly is absolutely critical with a GTI for accurate readings. Set your sensitivity at 6 or 6.5 and as John stated hunt in coin mode for a good many hours before trying any other mode, especially all metal. When pinpointing if you don't get the coil centered correctly it will often ID quarters as cents but if you move the coil around slightly it will change. Good luck.
