New F5!!

Alright guys, I just got my F5 last week. I've trying out in the back yard and I found a couple more coins and a key that my BH Lone Star didn't pick up on. I gotta tell you I'm really liking this F5. There is a bit of a learning curve, but I'm getting the hang of it. Anyhow, my Sister and I hit the beach today and within ten minutes I hit Silver.:detecting: I was shooting for gold, but I'll take what I can get. It is a men's silver ring and we also found a cool little pin/medallion with 3 angels on it. Not sure what the pin is made of there are no markings. Can't wait until Spring Break and some warmer weather. I'm definitely hitting the beach more this year.

Enjoy this pic's and thanks for looking!!

P.S. What reading do any of you F5 swingers get for gold?

Gold rings will depend on the purity. 9 ct (375) will be around pull tab, 35 ish and 22 ct (.916) will be around the same as silver 82 ish. Because there are so many sizes and alloys it could be anywhere in between. Therein lies the problem. if you 'aint digging many pull tabs you 'aint going to find may 9 ct rings.

do a search and read/bookmark all post by Mike Hillis-if ya can learn 1/10 of what he knows about the F5 you'll do fine.had mine about a yr and half and it still surprises me on occasions-good luck and definitely get the 5"DD

Looks like a grand hunt. Don't you just love finding a rings?

Nice finds. CONGRATS !

It's kinda funny seeing the cub scout scarf slide. That's one of my first finds this year also and I saw someone else has one in their recent finds too.

Nice finding silver right out of the gate! Hey I found over the course of a season at a large church site, 11 of those cub scout slides. Every one hit like a silver dollar!

This is the 2nd cub scout scarf slide I've found. The 1st one was at a park a month back, but that one was bent pretty good I think a lawnmower ran over it.
Thanks everyone for the info on how gold items read. Woodwizard, thanks for refering Mike Hillis. I got a chance to read a few of his posts, he's good.
