Hi All,
Will be receiving a new F4 in the coming days from Indian Nations Detectors (Thanks Chuck for the deal )

I just wanted to say hello and look forward to reading the posts here. I have been a long time hunter with Garrett and Minelab and HeadHunter.

Any quick comments about the F4 would be appreciated

Ron

When you get the f4 ground ,balanced it is a very accurate machine and very easy to use I really like mine. Good luck and HH!!!

I have had my F4 for about a year now and have very good luck with it. I have gotten about $200 in coins, and a bunch of rings. Very easy to use and a lot of fun!

Thanks Guys - I assume it will arrive this week sometime. Hopefully I will posting up some pics

I have had mine and hunted (PRACTICED) 70 hours.....very easy out the box but you have to dig everything to learn what the machine is telling you. Practice, Practice, practice. Found first silver and first 1919 large cent here in canada....lots of clad and lots of junk. You must ground balance....also check the ground balance on different areas of land since the mineral content can change.

Thanks everyone -

Question - I have watched a few videos on GB. Mine does not sound anything like what I hear. It has a scratchy kind of sound and not very clear at all. I assume that is why it goes crazy when I swing it. I know my backyard is clean (7 detectors over the years) but this machine even sounds off when it is still lying on the ground. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance for you replies

If its sounding off while still, it might be from excessive EMI (electro magnetic interference) around your house. Have you taken it to a park/school etc. and seen if it exhibits the same squawky behavior?

Yes I did and I am happy to say it doesn't. Also I have to say that I can swing this machine in front of me and it sounds like a machine gun going off with the meter going crazy. Maybe it's something I'm not doing right with it. It is very aggravating

I have found that if I get a 25 cent signal a lot of times its a bottle cap. When I get this signal, I sweep across very fast. If it does not make the same sound its a bottle cap. Also, I have found locations that make my f4 go crazy, its not the detector, its the location for some unknown reason. Good luck

Do you have steel caps in your boots/shoes, or metal tacks in your shoes? Also, If your are getting a lot of noise from the detector when it is lying on the ground, it is a good indication that interference is coming from something above the ground, and engine maybe, or some form of transmission.
