New Explorer XS

Hello,
Well, I've got three whites, a Fisher, and now I'm awaiting the arrival of an XS! I hope I haven't made a bad decision. I'm still concerned about the quality of the unit. Also, I havent' followed the Minelab forums for very long, but I have seen very few postings of gold items being found? Is this primarily a coin unit? Any tips for a new owner?
Thanks,
Astor

Hello again,
Well, I see I have no replies to my questions :-(
My XS arrived today, so I guess I'll read the manual, continue to follow this forum, and just see what happens.
I do appreciate the information I've already learned here.

Don't swing it like a Fisher or whites, swing it like the coil is held on by cheap glue and use short swings and when you hear a signal go even slower. The faster you swing it the more junk will sound good...

No gold, Email me I will show you gold I found with the unit gladly. 8^) 2 nice rings! Only owned it a few days when finding them as well.
