Hello All, I am new to the Excal 1000 and to this forum. Going out this morning for first time with this unit. Have read many post here and will try the settings I have read. Hope too find something to post later. Am very excited to get started. Thanks to all that have posted many useful tips.

Congratulations!!Are you hunting fresh water or salt? I am thinking HARD about the Excal, please let me know what your first impressions are on it!! HH Joe

Can you please tell me the length of the control pod?

The diameter of the control pod?

The height of the control pod and the battery pod assembled, just like it is on the stock rod?

Thanks, Bill

Very simple to use. Went to the beach today and played with it. Picked up a lot of trash, some coins (clad). The DFX has much different tones, so will take some practice to get use to it....I like it probably because it is so simple to set up and go.

Thank you, please keep me posted on what you think about it as you continue to learn it. Now go get some GOLD!! :clapping: HH Joe

Best I can tell, eyes not as good as use to be.
1. 11 3/8"
2. 5 5/8"
3. Put it on straight shaft from the start. Stock shaft still in box.
Hope this answers your questions as much as possible. Thanks Carl
