New Excal 1000 ll

Rocky!

New member
I am new to this site and I own an MXT. I love it very much! I've Found a ton of items, coins, jewelry, etc........but just returned from a tropic island vacation where I met an Excal water user and I am sold on the unit!!! I am going to buy a new one from Kellyco's in the very near future.
Does anyone have a preference about the straight shaft? (do I have to buy a straight shaft seperately?)
How about a knob guard?
I also am sold on the waist set up for the battery and controls..very comfortable set up..
I would appreciate any help anyone could offer, as I am so hooked on all this water set up, that I'm ready to book my next trip if the weather doesn't get nicer here in the very near future!!!

Plugger, makes a nice one or you can make your own. Knob guards are a must if you hunt ruff waters.
Check out digs on the beach forum hip mount....

make your own shaft

While you are at it you might as well buy 2 excals because if you are going to use that type of set up you will need a back up detector a lot sooner than if you had it mounted on a straight shaft. You could also omit the knob guard

i use Plugger Strait Shaft's

Just a matter of time and if you hunt like I do it will be sooner than later but to each his own

Must be fun making minor adjustments in chest/neck deep surf
i dont adjust anything....i set the Excal up in knee deep water and im done until i come out of the water. no need to change anything as long as the coil is under water, when i come out i only raise the Sens a bit and go!

Nice looking setup Bling, Looks like one of VB Max's..he sets his and hunts ALL day long without touching like you...........
