My first day out, stock 10.5 coil, I go to a very heavily hunted spot where I found 3 Barber quarters and 4 wheat cents in the same hole many months ago. I and many others have hunted this spot many times since.
About ten feet away, right in a small depression, I get a nice high signal, pretty deep, crosshairs in the upper right hand corner. I can't believe it, since I've gone over this spot so many times before. But I dig it. Sure enough, 1912 Barber dime, with full "LIBERTY"! Wow! How did we all miss this?
About 20 feet away, in another low area, same thing. This time it's a 1918-S Merc dime, in beautiful condition.
Another 10 feet, same low area, I get a slightly lower, somewhat bouncy deep signal, but it is repeatably positive. Since I'm learning, I dig it. 1889 Indian in the pile! Recheck the hole, clean. Recheck the pile and there's another signal, a constant tone, lower level signal. Turns out to be a Cracker Jack toy gun!
Also found some wheats and an old copper pin with fake diamonds.
Needless to say, I am impressed with this machine's ability to discriminate these deep targets while other detectors just passed them by. I was using conductive, selected everything but ferrous coins, sens. 26, gain 8.
Now I've got to go rehunt all my old spots!
