Got a new Etrac a couple weeks ago and have been getting my ears back in tune with some of the new tricks that Darrelld taught me. These were found at sites that we had pounded into oblivion. Checking the high chirps with pinpoint produced these finds at some great depths amongst nails and bottle caps. Great to be huntin again.
Deep rusty nails or bottle caps(10 in's or more) often give off a high chirp like deep silver, as soon as you turn 90 degrees and recheck the signal it disapears or only has a slight chirp. Hit pinpoint and recheck both directions again and see if the courser bounces from the bottom right to the upper right area of the screen. With a little practice you'll notice the courser will be bouncing up and down like it's trying to stay out of the blackened area. I never tried this with a coin program, just iron mask with the bottom third of the screen blackened out (2, high gain, auto sens + 3 and moving like a snail with the coil scrubing the ground.
