Bought my etrac 3 weeks ago, and the down arrow push button would have to be pushed several times to get the cursor to move? Minelab had me send it in. I'll let you guys know how it goes....what a drag.

ahhhh.....well i hope the weather has shut down your detecting for now anyways. hopefully it wont be too long. is this a brand new unit or used? hey i also had to send mine in once, they fixed the problem and ive been good ever since. it happens.

Someone once told me that if there is a problem with computers and electronics in general it is usually within the first coupe months of new and at the end of it's life and that it's a waste of $$$ to purchase an extended warranty. I imagine it's the same way with detectors.

Hey...it happens. Kinda a bummer, but at least its winter. I just hope I get it back in one piece. I thought I would have to send it to minelab but they had me send it to Florida.

Bad luck there , always 1 Lemon in a batch :( . I bought a new ET a few weeks back to cover me just in case my older one has problems. You don't expect it but it can happen even new .

My new ET had the same problem back in June. Had it repaired and back to me in less than 2 weeks by Minelab in Florida.

Yeah, they told me it was about a two week turn around. Thats ok. The only thing I worry about is getting it back in new condition like I sent it. I really didnt want to give ups my brand new etrac in the box to be shipped cross country and back.

What if you forgot to fill out the warranty card? I bought mine in April, went on to Minelab's website to do all the serial numbers to register the coil and unit but didn't complete the process and then got sidetracked and hunted all year long. Now that my season is pretty much over I realized I haven't actually registered it. Is it too late? Will they be able to backdate it from April? I realize I'd lose about 1 year of warranty but I'd like to get the rest of it.

That's something I'd call them about. Shouldn't be a problem. Especially if you have a copy of your original sales receipt.
That was the first thing I had done.

It's a three year warranty. Date of purchase I'm sure ,not when you register it , if ever. i think registration is just a formality as long as you have the original receipt
