New England Beach Hunting

Hi All
I'm a greenhorn when it comes to beach hunting, so can anyone give me advice for using my Explorer there? What modes do you use ? Sensitivity? Sounds? Etc? Thanks
Henry In VT

Hi Henry,
I'm just starting with the Explorer. On the beach I'm going to start with this.
Ferrous Mode.
Use Advanced Mode and go to Select mode.
While in Select start with a blank screen and select coins & jewelry and reject foil & crown caps.
Go to edit mode and open the top half of the screen. I want to be able to hear some of the iron. I think it will help with the false signals.
Volume menu - Set Volume 10 & the Gain (set where you like) I'm going to try 7-10.
Tone menu - Set Variability 10 & Limits 10
Response menu - Normal
Recovery menu - Fast
--------------------------------------------------
In trashy areas I'm going to try the same as above but black out the bottom half of the screen and learn in nickels with the med. cursor and learn in some sm & med gold rings with the sm cursor.
Rick
