New E-TRAC Christened with first Silver!

Picked up my new Etrac and went out this afternoon to a park in an old town a few miles from me. I only had an hour, so, as it was my first time there, to improve my odds, I looked for old trees or a hillside. About a half hour in I got a 12-46, pretty solid, 6 inches down. At five inches down my hand held pin-pointer sang loud and clear. Carefully moving the soil out, the unmistakable shine of silver was suddenly visible, and my new Etrac was christened! The Standing Liberty, although worn and no date visible, is a beauty to me! Based on my research it was probably minted between 1917 - 1924. I

A Standing Liberty as your first silver is very unusual and a really great find. Congrats.

Major Congrats:thumbup:

Believe it or not I detected for over three years and only recently found a SLQ!

Prior to that I found a Barber Half and Quarter and a Seated Dime but no SLQ

Hope there is more and more silver for you to find

What a GREAT coin to christen it with. You have to love the Standing Liberty. Probably my favorite.

The reason a lot of people dont find a lot of SLQs is because they were minted for a fairly short time.....1916 to 1931.... Not a long time compared to the silver washington that was minted 1932 to 1964

Great find for your first etrac silver....I believe my first etrac silver was a 8 in deep barber dime in a yard I had already cleaned out with my x70

Congrats on your first E-Trac silver and here's to many more:beers:

I will always remember my first silver digs with the Explorers and E-trac...and I know you'll cherish yours and never forget it.

Congrats.

Nice find!

I have yet to find one as they are one of the most elusive of the old silvers.
Probably, due to the depression I am guessing.

Let us know what else you find.

Wow! When you "christen" a detector....you really go all out. Congratulations on your first E-Trac silver and the SLQ!!! Thanks for the pictures.

Congratulations on the christening! :clapping: A beauty of a first silver for the machine.
Cheers

Thanks, unfortunately no. It's located below the feet on the flat area which is long worn away.

Thanks Joe for all your help, and the CTX demo. That is one very cool detector. By the way, your new showroom is excellent.

The Etrac is truly a unique machine. The more time you get on this baby the more you'll love it.
Very versatile.
