New Dude's Finds in Cape Town

Greetings Everyone!

Thanks for all the advice forum members. Just taken up the detecting hobby and bought the Ace 250 after chatting to a seasoned detectorist. Very pleased with it and my finds for the weekend.

Met an ex-army character on the Hout Bay Dunes who used to detect land mines when serving in South West Africa (Namibia). Thinking about heading out on an adventure to Namibia's Ghost Town's left behind from the diamond mining days. Have any of you guys been there?

I'm looking for a buddy to hit some of the Cape's fine beaches, sand dunes, historic sites and maybe to take a trip up to the Skeleton Coast!

Cheers,

Greg Hudson

Know personally only one person from S. Africa, Trevor Rabin from the late 70's band Rabbitt. Trevor later went on to pen Yes' 1980's hit, "Owner of a Lonely Heart". he now lives in L.A., composes soundtracks for movies. I assume there's quite a bit of history in S.A. to dig up.

Good luck with the 250, you won't be disappointed.

If you start working areas loaded with trash, the 4.5 sniper coil works wonders. Congrats and looks like you have a good start. HH
