These guys go to alot of sweet spots around the country, makes any MD'er jealous and the juices flowing to dig!

As a good friend of mine points out, those guys on TV get to hunt sites we can only dream about because the show's sponsers are able to cut thru the red tape for them & get them special permission to hunt those sites. A few things I don't like about the show: they don't portray us md folks in a positive way, they never show those guys refilling in the holes they dug. In one episode they showed the guy hacking away with an entrenching tool (army folding shovel) digging up a coin or artifact. I would cringe if he damaged what he was digging up particularly glassware.

I do not plan on watching as it is my opinion that those "Reality" shows that have nothing to do with reality do far more damage to the hobby than they do good. As an example I was asked by a Lady if I would like to detect her lot where her home stands. She indicated that during the Civil War Confederate soldiers camped there. I was overjoyed to be asked until I turned and looked at her husband. He seemed to be greatly concerned. I asked him if he was concerned that I might damage their lawn and he said No I Have Seen That Show and do not want folks like that on my property. I could not convince him that not all folks that detect are idiots but was not successful in gaining his permission.

When you start losing permission to detect a piece of property due to the antics, over zealous pricing of junk, Etc you will then have a different opinion about those "Reality" that have nothing to do with Reality. If it has not yet happened to you some time in the future it will.
