I scored two detectors today. A Troy Shadow X2 and a Tesoro Silver Sabre II for less than $200. I think I did well.

Yes u did.

That's a good haul! Post some pictures!

Silver Sabre 2 is boxed up and going to get tuned up. I'll send photos of the Troy

Sounds like you definitely scored on that deal.

Here's the Troy in great condition

Now please forgive me of my ignorance, but what is the difference between the Troy Shadow X2, and the Silver Umax?

On the X2, a coin check, which is a preset disc setting, and a pinpoint function. It (the x2) is based on the Tesoro Silver SABRE microMAX, whereas the Silver microMAX is actually based on the Cutlass. The x2 is also reputed to have a slightly "hotter" coil... They all have different characteristics, despite the number or position of knobs. All are pretty good coin finders.

I don't know anything about the Troy but the Sabre II is a great machine, you got a great deal.Congrats on the buy, many new things are going to resurface.

No personal experience with the Troy, but that model is said to be an excellent competition machine. Tried to buy one a while back for competition hunting but it sold too quick...

I'm going to try both of them out. Already had some local guys want to buy the Troy but I'm going to play with it a while. Really wanting to hunt with the Silver Sabre II.

The Troy is a bit lighter and should be nearly as good in iron.

Thank all for the advice and help

Where are the pictures :)
