New Detector!

Well, I finally ordered and received my new detector. After much contemplation and several posts on here, the verdict is......... Whites Matrix M6! A big thanks to Monte, bill, Andy NM, smilinjak7, and all the others who took time to respond to my questions!! Much appreciated!! I live in Montana, so our hunting season is much shorter than many, but I couldn't let that stop me. Had some experience with the MXT, but the M6 suited my needs a little better, and I had to see how it works. Went out with my brother (MXT owner) and found perma-frost 1-2 inches down from the surface. Surface hunting we starting calling it. M6 found lots of signals this week(went out a few times), but most were out of winter digging range. Found modern pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters so far. Can't wait to visit some of these sites after spring time! I am convinced the Whites M6 is going to be a good fit for my hunting needs.
Thanks again to y'all!

Congrats on the M6 and sure you'll like it.Get familiar with the Tone ID , use little to "0" disc and with a smaller coil you may be amazed what is unmasked.
Gonna have to check out the Western@ Eastern Treasures, thanks for the info Rob.

Since you brother has the MXT and you the M6 now get Jeff Fosters book on the MXT. I got it yesterday and can say it is a must have book for any MXT/M6 user.
I have used many detectors and I'm not brand loyal. I use what works and the M6 is sure one of the best single frequency detector you can buy. Make sure to get a small coil and the 14" or 10" DD coil.
I'm sure you'll post some nice finds soon.

Best to you.
