If you could buy any new detector and money was not a factor what would it be and why.

I think a very useful machine for any serious metal detectorist would be the the new challenger tank, three round's from one of those, that's the Stonehenge rockery gone, now for some serious detecting <IMG SRC="/metal/html/ujack.gif" BORDER=0 width=22 height=15 ALT="uj">

A $350,000 side sonar metal detector, pulled on a cable a mile behind my $10,000,000.00 exploration boat, searching for sunken boat treasure. My second choice I am stuck with, it my Minelab Explorer II.

There is a detector made in the USA that is probably the king of the kings but it costs around $40.000 last time I saw it on the net.
It comes complete with a laptop, a head screen, a high power ground (sonar?) type tranmitter/receiver that covers all frequencies and harmonics from 1Hz to 500Khz, it has both IB and PI technology, it had several coil types on wheels and it is capable of detcting (so they claim) anything from a grain sized object to a tank at a depth of up to 60 feet with absolute accuracy. They claimed it needs three people to operate it and it required heavy batteries.
I am not sure if its made by Acurate Locators or another mob, but it was surely an American company that makes it....its been a while since I saw the advert, but it looked impressive....I guess it better perform for its price...!!
If I had money to spare, I would buy one just out of curiocity.
