New Detector

TreborBdiggin

I've been looking at getting a water detector and I have almost made up my mind. One question remains, will Tesoro's new detector be waterproof?
I would like to buy a Tiger Shark, but what if the new detector is waterproof. I might be kicking my self in the pants later on:(
Does anyone know anything about the new machine? (other than the name)

Thanks

Do we even know the name?

I don't think you will find anything more than guesses and speculation.

it will not be waterproof...From what I gather it will definitely be a tone i.d machine with big number digital display..12 volt.. housing and rod set up like the Tejon... but all matte black and silver in color with stock DD coil running at 13.5 k coin, relic, and gold

You cannot go wrong with the Tiger as it would be hard to beat.

Sounds interesting

In my time following and using Tesoros, the company has always been tight lipped about new releases until they are ready to hit the market. Seems pretty much the same this time.

I guess it will have to be the tiger. It should be a great companion for my vaquero.

Thanks

That's what I want even if it's not that. :)

You will enjoy the tiger. I have been using one for many years now. It is very good on small gold. You will like the beep sound. I call mine the duck. The beep sounds like a duck going quack,,quack.
Loud and strong signals are close to the top. The very faint are much deeper. Take your time with it to learn it. It will do you a good job... KEN

Tesoro, will never, ever, give you a hint about any new detector until it is released. All discussion is purely speculative until then.

As for the Tiger, it will do amazing job for you in fresh water, just be prepared to dig a lot of trash in order to take full advantage of its gold finding capabilites.

Get the Tiger and get on with it! The Tiger is one incredible detector and won't miss a thing. You will find the disc settings are not like the land machines. Like for instance it is hard to disc out a pulltab without being at almost max disc., but this thing was designed for the water and you don't want the disc that high. I would not sell mine for anything. If you use it to hunt in threshold with no disc and a background hum from the threshold, this thing is a depth monster! On land if you are a dig it all guy and hunt in this mode it super deep. I doubt the Vaq could touch it depthwise in this mode. The Tiger Shark is worth every penny!

You could wait the rest of your life always waiting for the next new detector. The Tiger Shark is proven and works- extremely well.

Well all of that feed back has made the decision easy.
Thanks guys

I hope that means a new Tiger for you! If you get the Tiger make sure you get a good sand scoop. This thing will amaze you at the small rings it can find and no coins can hide from it. Keep your disc setting at no more than 2-3 for water hunting. Don't adjust the internal pots with the exception of volume if needed. The sensitivity pot is set good from the factory.
