Hi All,
I've been detector shoping for a month now. I have owned gta1000,gti1500 and the Garrett 2000. Great detectors. I drove over 70 miles to a detector shope where this guy had all the makes and models. I spent a hour and a half looking at all them. I could not make up my mind. So we left for a while and came back a couple hours later. I ended up getting a whites dfx ? Why ? Just for a change until Garrett gets a new top of the line detector. It is very different. Boy leaving Garrett was like getting a divorce. <img src="/metal/html/sad.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":sad"> But who knows what there going to bring out. <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin"> I know this is a true green forum but has anyone used a dfx ? No bashing please it will make me fill worse.
 
Got rid of one for a Ace 250. Imo the 250 runs as deep and you can swing it very fast and it holds its own and then some. As for all the extra goodies on the dfx well some of my best finds were trash displayed vdi numbers. don't figure. Good luck on your dfx. Sold mine with stock coil and gray ghost phones for 600.00 Enjoy your new machine but pay close attention to trash indicated numbers on your display. Also try to stay with 2 filters if you can and dig low bar indications. Dfx is a good machine just big bucks. Good luck Loopswinger.

if you want depth and performance go with a Minelab Explorer or quattro. They have a learning curve but will blow any whites away. I love depth and high performance but I love the 250 for all it is. It suits all my needs.I just want a bigger coil.good hunting,Joe
