new detector

Farno

New member
This will be my first machine which I will mainly use on the beach or in parks in Australia. The problem I have is I have reduced hearing due to my job, will this have any bearing as to what detector I should select. There are 3 detectors that I can choose from they are a Minelab Quattro, Minelab Sovereign GT or a Minelab Xterra 70 all for a similar price. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I have used the X70 on the sand in Aust, and I also have reduced hearing due 15 years in the army, with a good set of headphones you shpould be okay with the X70. Its a good unit for the beach and parks!!.

As Bling says, GT for me too

Quattro is much to slow on the response time and can be aggravating to someone with diminished hearing.
Xterra series is very good with a screen to read.
The GT you would have to add a screen if you had a problem hearing...........but you can get specialized headphones with adjustable hearing for the hearing impared that would fit the GT.
