new DeLeon coming

If it's anything like the Cortes, it is one heck of a park machine! Fairly acurateTID. Kinda neat to learn all the quirks on this machine, I'm blown away with mine, very under rated, depth is amazing - I mean, it's right on par with the vaquero I had, well maybe just a touch less depth, but still not what I expected! The audio is very nice. Tesoro opened up the tid range for mid conductors, what that means is that gold rings now fall into a 10-65 vid vs 10-40. it makes it easy to pass up pull tab # where there are a lot of them and dig other #'s where gold falls into. I'm gonna send you a pm, with a bit more info.

Seems you haven't posted enough to receive private messages, just use the search on the forum. You'll come up with some good stuff.

Darn I wish I could get private messages. I appreciate your help. Very interested in learning more about the mid range of this as you say.

I have read the depth is very good on this. Depth should not be and issue with this detector from what I have read.

I have searched on here for deleon. the search is very slow on my end. Thanks for any and all tips and pointers. I can use any advantage I can get to start from.

Super excited. It will be arriving tomorrow.

Im on another popular detecting forum on the net. But im getting feed up with the tesoro forum over there. Seems like it is over run with people that had or have a tesoro and are not happy with them in some way. Seems like Any time someone ask a question or wants advice its never good or helpful(not always but most of the time).

All they want to talk about is why Tesoro hasn't come out with there new machine yet!?

They are bored, it was all that cabin fever..........................nothing else to talk about but that new fangled where it it machine. Now that spring has sprung.....
Another reason you may not get a quick answer its the same question asked 1000 times and a quick (actually slow) forum search will generally give you the answers.

There is one forum I visit where folks are or can get nasty when the same question is continuously asked over a short period of time.....especially when asked and answered a handful of posts below.
If you have a question, just ask away......there's probably not a whole lot of Deleon or Cortes owners on this forum due to their reported shortcomings but, overall are excellent detectors.

The Deleon works well for the wife and me, here in Kansas we are blessed with mild soil conditions and pre-set (factory) ground balance works well in our ground. The Deleon, if your soil is mildly mineralized will work well, just go easy on the Sensitivity as it has high gain built into it. You will find that a low Disc. setting at a midpoint between Min. & Iron will bang out the nickels better. Other than that, it is a simple turn on and go machine, good luck with it!

Thanks. I have a compadre and love it. So easy to pin point with it. I really like that little detector. That's why I bought another tesoro.

WOW. It arrived today. My boy and I only had about an hour to go play around at a local ball field. I just discrimed just past zinc. Bam the thing way hitting #95 all the time. We dug up $3.16 in clad. all quarters and dimes one copper penny. Love it so far!!

The DeLeon is one of my favorites. You will do better if you keep the sensitivity below max. I usuall run in the 6 - 9 range, disc set above iron. As mentioned above, the depth is good and the tid is pretty accurate. You're going to have fun.

I only had the sensitivity on 4... we dug a few at 5" deep. I wasn't even close to max on the sensitivity..
