New DD Coil might have problems.......................

Ivan

New member
................operating in our typical trashy areas . After all it is 8 1/2" by 11" and in trashy areas such as parks for example I'm not so sure that it will be all that effective. I view it more as a beach coil......or for large open areas such as fields. I'd like to see a smaller version of it . Time will tell............ I'm looking forward to actual user reports which should start pouring in once the coil is really " out there" in real hunting situations.Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade ....just questioning the functuality!!!

Use a smaller coil...problem fixed.

I dont see it as a problem with the coil. Its in your head where the problem lies.

Ivan, i understand what you mean and of course you are right. This new coil is a great addition and it will shine in many terrains but it will have its limitations of course for area's with a lot of trash. Then the 4.5 sniper will be handy.

:usaflag:Here is the new coil's detection field. Judge for yourself whether or not it will work in trashy areas.

My coil of choice is the 9 x 12. When the trash gets too bad the sniper is called to duty. Even in tot lots next to metal the big coil does very well. So the new DD coil can only be better.

:usaflag:I think the general idea is that it will separate targets better than the stock coil due to it's narrow detection field. If you are getting mixed signals, I am predicting that if you come at it from a different angle you may be able to single the better target out. Then again, as Ivan stated, there could be multiple objects and therefore it would be tougher to accomplish that. Not always the case of course. But I don't see any downside to using this coil. To me it's like a Sniper with deeper detecting abilities. And that is why I bought one. So when I find a place to hunt I will have three different coils at my disposal, to adjust to the conditions.

Off to work. Have a good day everyone.
