New Cz3d

Hi everyone,

Just got a new cz3d and couldn't be more happier. The timing could't be better as i found an old house that has be torn down and land bulldozed to make way for a new townhouse complex. I've already found an 1837 1/2 cent and 1894 large cent..both canadian. Anyway, the reason i bought it was digging thru these archives, visint dan's site (which i got from here also).

Prior detector is an explorer xs which i like quite a bit but this CZ really evokes a sense of confidence in its ID of tagets. Plus its alot lighter than my explorer and pinpointing is a cinch right out of the box. Can't wait to get to really get to know her.

thanks

The 3D is the detector I searched for 20 years to find. Yeah, I tried em' all, nothing like a3D. I can't believe how deep it will hit silver with the small coil. It really likes round silver and gold things with a hole in the middle.:fisher:

I just picked one up too not long ago...been detecting since '75 and had many detectors...the cz3D is my favorite hands down...and what excellent friggin DISC in heavy picinic'd areas with lots of tinfoil, if i am not in a ring mood, just looking for the old coinage...and it's incredible depth, sweet...and old nickels and gold coins ring in at a high tone, a sweet machine.

I do not know why people say they are not good in modern parks. I have been tearing the modern parks up with mine. Just put the discrimination on 4 and proceed to dig coins.....;o)

Well,

bad news, my dog chewed thru the coil cord...but i got another 8 and now the 5 inch coil on the way. I'm also leaving it in enhanced all the time. I was having a problem at an old church site laden with iron. I kept getting iron falses on every sweep. All these high tones in my ear which wouldn't repeat really made this place seem unhuntable.
Lowering the sensitivity REALLY helped. I'm not good enough to pass over a high tone that "sounds" washed out just yet.

I've dug a few nails yes but not without knowing beforehand that this target was likely a nail, I always dig these iffy signals even with the minelab and they're always some form of rusty iron.

Cursory findings so far...

-This CZ seems deeper in ground and definitely deeper in air tests versus my minelab explorer XS with it 10.5 coil versus the stock 8 incher on the Fisher. Very Impressive.

-The target id is actually more pleasurable to use that the crosshair system on the minelab

-Much lighter than the XS

-Easier to use out of the box

-Less prone to EMI versus my minelab. At my local freshwater beach i have huge powerlines directy overtop the sandy strip and while i did have to lower sensitivity to 3-4 it behaved very stable and i was finding some deep junk plus the odd clad.

-Battery life seems acceptable

-Complex enough to allow tweaking for peak performance and Target ID both visual and audio but not so complex you'll want to spend 5 mins over the target trying to pin down what its telling you.

Mine is not one of the 1121 serial numbers older ones and its plenty deep.

My only regret is having waited so long to try a fisher.
