New CZ-21 Installed Anderson Straight Shaft Today

Just got in my new CZ-21 8" coil beach machine from Big Boy Hobbies ( Thanks' Bart) to go along with my Tesoro Sand Shark PI unit. I installed the Anderson straight shaft today and the balance is a lot better. I did not care for the stock configuration as much though it was ok. It felt more bulky and a little more flimsy and loose than the Anderson straight shaft set up. I would use the stock shaft though for inland or relic hunting as to see the controls and get to the pin point button for these inland uses of the CZ-21.

I added a little heavy duty black tape to the bottom or top of the control box for protection when sat down using the straight shaft configuration. Also used industrial Velcro to add the belt clip to the top as a little foot when setting the CZ-21 down ( can be removed very easy ) It keeps the box of the ground when setting it down, it works pretty good too ( I made a similar little foot/stand held on with Velcro for the Tesoro Sand Shark with the Anderson straight shaft for the same reason ) Also I added a little wire loom protection to the coil wire to protect it and wrapped the coil wire nicely on the shaft, minimize false signals and snags to the coil wire.

Bill G.....You gotta love the Anderson Shafts..I have Anderson's on 3 of my machines,,2 of them are Carbon Fiber and 1 Aluminum..They made me a custom shaft for my Minelab Sovereign GT from Carbon Fiber..I use the 15" WOT Coil often on the beach and it's a heavy coil with all the weight at the coil end..They made me a Carbon Fiber Extension Shaft about 16" long that slides in the end and I mount my Sovereign GT Control Box to it..Before with the stock shaft with the WOT coil my arm would be aching in less than 2 hours,,now with the Carbon Shafts and the Extension the weight transfer is unbelievable and I can swing it for hours and no aches.!!
The Carbon Fiber Shafts with the Extensions is the Best Investment I've made on my machines.!..Anderson has some real nice accessories....

Regards.

Sounds like a sweet set up John...Anderson does make nice stuff and I feel there shafts benefited me by better balance and comfort as stated and a tighter feel to the shaft over the factory shaft allowing me to swing longer. The one thing I had to do though is add an extra strip of foam to the slot on the Anderson mounting plate that attaches the control box then to the shaft on the CZ-21 set up. There was a little miner rattle with the control box and the shaft when swinging now it's gone and all is snug with the shaft and the push in mounting pins after adding the foam strip ( miner fix ) I used a strip of replacement arm cuff stick on foam That I had. I just cut a strip the right size to fit in the slot and put it over the little piece of foam that came on the mounting bracket or plate.

No issues with the Tesoro Sand Sharks fit being a little loose (if anything is was snug) but the mounting bracket for the control box is not made by Anderson on this application you use the factory Tesoro bracket and it clips to the shaft ( There is a thicker piece of foam on this one from the factory )

Nice! I've been thinking of getting the carbon fiber shaft as well. How is the weight of the machine? It looks a heck of a lot lighter! I've been carrying my unit in a backpack.
