Got my new ctx3030 Friday set it up and took it out today to test. Used factory coin settings. Im New to hobby been using a safari for a month now not much luck with it a few newer coins, watch bezel and a 1941 nickel. Well the first target with the ctx3030 was in the 11-?? Reading so I dug it and it was about 8 inchs down. It was st Jude medal I think silver plate very little left copper or brass. About an hour later I found a 1831 one cent in ruff shape 11-?? and dumb me let my buddy talk me into cleaning it in CLR. Only soaked 2-3 hours but enough to finely pit it now it's hard to read valuable lesson learned. He found a cool silver spoon with his bounty hunter basic, so not bad day testing.

Welcome and congrats on your detector choice. There's plenty of info here on the CTX 3030 to ponder over.

Hello to all from France. I have the CTX 3030 what do you think you about it ... and what advice can you give about your settings of the CTX 3030 THANK YOU

Went out for a few hours yesterday and I'm still only using default coin mode and got at ton of hits in the 11-?? And 12-?? Range and all I dug up was old square nails and pull tabs. Turned on the trace function and played a little with it. I'll need lots of practice to learn everything it can do and boy is this hobby addicting.

Takes practice and it has a small learning curve.. get some of your coins, put them on the ground and scan them listen to how the machine reacts to good targets and that will help alot..
