New CTX O-rings

Dan(NM)

Well-known member
I just bought a CTX from a guy that never had it out of the house, the factory screen protector is still on it and not a mark on the coil. My question is this, does the O-ring come installed on the new machines? I don't see anything in the slot where the battery goes. Surely Minelab wouldn't make the user have to install his own O-ring on a new machine??? My first thought was it was somewhere in the box, but, I don't see it. Thanks.

That’s been superseded to a caulking gun now...:)

I hate caulking, my wife refuses to allow me near anything that needs it. I never could stay in the lines at color book time either

It's my understanding that the CTXs manufactured in Beijing do not come with the o-ring

Dan,
Yes, the o-ring comes installed in new machines.

I've seen some machines where the o-ring wants to fall out more easily than others.
It will also fly out pretty quickly if you hit the o-ring channel with compressed air.

He may have just lost it.

If it wasn’t for comedic relief I wouldn’t be good for anything Mike...
