This evening around 7:00 pm the UPS man showed up with my new XT 70 control box!! 
Along with the new unit, which was sent by 3 day shipping, they included the return UPS tag to ship the broken one back. That's what I call customer service, Dick Schultz with Minelab is a great guy to do business with, I called him told him the problem he said he'll take care of it and...well, here I am back in the game!!
