new competition for T2?

It's from France -- the Adonis from Titanium Systems. It's a PI machine with disc. Claims to have a Ground Radar Mode with USB port to download data and upgrade software. Web site doesn't yet have much info and it's in French.

Sacre bleu!

Someone needs to prove out a discriminating PI machine before I go into drool mode. Good thought and a forward step though.

Hopefully they will put up an English page but from what I know about the French, probably not.

Still, it's interesting.

Let the big boys in America start to think of ways for us to downolad upgrades and make a detector that is the wave of the future. Time for a change and for America to step forward and give us something we have only dream about.

Garrett has two PI machines with disc (Infinium & SH Mark II). I don't know how proven they are but they have their fans who swear by them.

There was another PI with disc that is no longer manufactured. I think it was called the Barracuda. It has its fans too.

And, I think one of the Eric Foster's current PIs may have disc.

There are translation web sites that allow you to read pages written in foreign languages. One is called Babel Fish and is located here:

Seriously, You guys and gals really think this pi will out perform the T-2 for inland hunting? This new Pi does have an edge over the T-2 but only for beach detecting and high mineralized soil for nugget hunting, and a slight touch in some relic hunting areas under special conditions.

About 95 percent of inland hunting the T-2 will outrun the new breed pi. Plus....Only a handful will be able to operate this new pi and those that do are the ones already using high tech pi's, And that's only in certain areas under certain conditions.

You guys are already trading in the T-2...Shame shame shame :lmfao:

The French are in the race??? but the T2 is here and it works. Fisher got it wrong, Whites got it wrong, Minelab has the new Explorer III and so far that seems wrong. Now we have to see what the pulse devil can do and the micro one and if Teknetic's is going to take the next step with a DD small coil in time for Xmas and what their next machine will be?????? Are we all getting smarter wanting to deal with masking and being able to have a machine that is sensitive on silver and gold.

A machine that is fast and will average mixed targets. Give us more control on tones and how they are used...Or has Old Calif infected my way of thinking and now I can only think outside of the box? Well I think Paul is right the future is here and it is called the USA-T2. If Paul is happy with the T2 then you can bet it is a winner.

Hello LAWRENZO,

Most of the major detector companies have very good detectors, Whites has several good detectors including the MXT, Minelab is still going strong with several top end detectors, Fisher has a few good ones, Detector Pro still puts out winners, Garrett still impresses me with machines such as the Infinium and a few others, The list goes on and not all users are alike. We all have different taste and different types of treasure hunting needs.

No machine is perfect, My T-2 is my best top end detector only because I use it for relic hunting which accounts for about 95 percent of my field use....For deep silver at a old park my Explorer is the first machine I'll grab and the T-2 stays in the car, The Explorer is even good for relic hunting as well but for me not quite as sharp as the T-2.

Please don't wait for the next detector to come out when we already have very good detectors out in the market right now, What's good for us may not be good for others and vise versa. So a person needs to do some research and not worry about hearsay on future detectors, A user should get a detector that best suits their hunting needs and sometimes it may call for two or three detectors to fill ones hunting needs. I think allot of us would agree on that :)

Take care and see you in the fall,
Paul (Ca)

In the English translation it states that is it as deep on smaller objects as the best VLF's so that is no better than what we already have. Most of us are looking for coins and small relics and for over 2000 it would need to be astonishing for many of us to even consider it. Up to now, there has not been a PI to disciminate well enough for inland use(at an acceptable price) so VLF's have the upper hand, JMHO.

Paul you are right and I think I was more or less giving my view on what my needs are... I have four detectors and I use each one for different types of hunting. I am in the market for a new machine and considering the MXT or the T2. I have had a lot of luck with my Compass Gold Scanner Pro at relic sights. And I got a 4x6 DD for my White's 6000 XL Pro and it is faster on multy targets and unmasking.

I just think with the winter coming, this a great time to see who will come out with what. As for the new Explorer III I can't wait to see what it can do, maybe I will get one! And I still love Fisher and with the new take over it will be interesting to see what they do. And lets not forget Whites, the DFX and the MXT are so different and yet offer some really great ways for us to detect.

So yes there are some great detectors out there and I have found some great older machines that have won a place in my SUV and I love to use. I can't wait to see where this hobby is going and who has been burning the candel late at night to come up with the next new machine.

I can wait for as long as I need to because I have a great line up that I use and enjoy and understand. I think the T2 may be my next relic machine for me and I would love to hunt with you and see the differences with the T2 and the Compass. It would be the only way to understand what I may be missing!

I guess I better throw all the nice coins & relics I have been posting for the last several years back in the ground then ;) Fisher got nothing wrong......they'll hunt alongside anything & do just as good if not better.

The edge is what I meant I have a few fishers and got the edge and sold it I kept the T2 way better machine I am hoping Fisher comes out with a new CZ or better so don't get me wrong I know you helped Fisher but both whites and fisher didn't do anything to change the future of detecing like the T2 did!

I thought you meant all Fisher's in general. If you didn't care for the EDge that's cool....different strokes....
but in defence of the Edge, it wasn't designed as a high end unit, but a mid-level, ease of use type machine, full of presets for beginners.......

Would never knock Fisher as a whole...I am still waiting to see what Nasa Tom is going to come out with. And what about you are you working on anything?

magazine to try to keep my name active in the hobby, & hoping First Texas may look to me in ways similar to Fisher. Also, just trying to get back to some good old fashoned treasure hunting with the T2.....a really fun & sensitive detector.
