Just checked the Tesoro site and they are showing a Compadre with the 8" coil.

I just checked: www.tesoro.com/product/detectors/compadre, and only saw the Compadre with 5.75" coil.

What URL address were you on when you saw the Compadre with an 8" coil ?

Front page they have it there. as said no price yet.

I used Yahoo instead of Google and now I see the Compadre with the 8 " Coil on the front page of the Tesoro website, right above the OutLaw image !

I wonder if Tesoro is using the ubiquitous 8 inch "brown donut" coil, or have they created a new customized 8" donut coil just for the Compadre ?

In any event, I guess whatever 8" coil is used, it needs to be tuned with the Compadre's control box circuitry.
