New coils

Any one got the 6" or the 17" coils and have you had time to try them ? I have both on order and they should be here soon. Seems like just a few dealers have gotten some so far. So if you have them let us know what you think. Does the 17" balance at all or is it heavy. Started not to get the 17" but figured there are a few places where it may be nice to have. Hope to have mine soon. May get to try them out next week will let you know what I think if I get some time to hunt.

I got my 17 inch coil yesterday but have not had a chance to use it yet. The 17 inch coil weight is 1/2 pound more then the 11 inch coil. 11 inch coil is 1 pound 9 ounces and the 17 inch coil is 2 pounds 1 ounce. I did install the 17 inch coil and while you can tell that it is now heavier. It is OK. I did some air testing on a nickel and at maximum sensitivity of manual 30. I get a good 3 inches more of depth over the 11 inch coil and here is the surprising thing. It is just as sensitive to small gold items as the 11 inch coil is. A course being a bigger coil, it does pickup more electronic interference but it is not bad.

I hope the 6 inch coil has decent depth. THe stock coil feels good but the 6 inch should make swinging the machine a breeze.
