New Coil

Well after some deliberation, I got the 3" x 18" coil for my Vaquero. Got to try it out in a park for about an hour today. BOY - can you really cover ground with that thing. Pinpointing is a snap, just off the tip or the toe, either one. A bit heavier than the stock coil but not bad. No real info on depth yet, but for open areas - ballfields, soccerfields, etc. - I sure do like it.

The weight balances out a bit better if you mount the coil "reversed". That is, with the lettering turned around. The ears for mounting are a bit below center so if you mount it as intended the front of the coil is a bit heavier. If you spin it around and mount it the other way, the heavier portion is toward you and it balances it a pinch better. Depth is about the same as the standard coil but coverage is great.

I love running the Cleansweep coil on my Golden uMax. Makes a good ring and clad sweeper

Thanks for that tip! I never thought to reverse my coil around... I'll try it towards the end of the day.

Do you think it's as deep as stock concentric????
