New coil for G2

Flintstone

Well-known member
Hi all, just got a 5x10 NEL Sharpshooter coil for my G2. Looks nice on the end of rod. Hope it dose better than the 11" stock coil. The 11" dose good, hope the 5x10" will help with iron. Will let you know as soon as i can get out and use it. Flintstone

Well i have used the 5x10 coil about 3 times and it dose better every time i use it. It works better in trash because it is a litter smaller. I likt the 11" dd for open hunting, but in trash i think the 5x10 dose a little better. The G2 dose a fine job in trash, it is fast and can pick out the good from the bad. I am hunting a flea market and it has trash.

I have a Sharpshooter for my Gold Bug Pro that never comes off. I don't think I lost much if any depth compared to the 11" dd coil in my mild soil. The Sharpshooter works so much better for me when using the toe of the coil for pinpointing and watching the id / tone drop off. What really impressed me was the build quality of the Sharpshooter compared to the 11" dd. Excellent choice Flintstone!
