New coil does wonders

Joe Diggerall

New member
Been out huntin with my new coil.
Odd how this works. Go out and hit silver for 3 or 4 hunts then goes bone dry for a week or more.
Last 3 days hit 4 silver in 3 hunts after a dry spell of a week.
Went huntin today and got zip, hope another dry spell aint startin.

Here's a pic of a better find. This is by far the nicest standing liberty I've ever found and it is a 1919 s.
If I could do this monthly I might would get a 3030 or a new car.

To enlarge the picture press and hold the CTRL(control) key then hit the +(plus) key to make it bigger, the more you hit it the bigger it gets.
or if you have a roller button on your mouse you can just roll it bigger or smaller

For an EF-40, which that one appears to be at least that grade, the book says $550. That was worth digging up. What kind of coil did you get?

Thanks.
It actually graded au50 ,the face is not as worn as it looks in the pic and the beads are fairly bold all the way around, that's just not a very good pic.
I got another sunray 5. I had sold my other one a while back(shouldn't have sold it) to another se pro guy.
Got this out of a hard hunted park(but aren't they all).
There wasn't any trash in the same hole but was trash all around. was about 5 1/2" deep.

That kicks it up to $750 then. Awesome dig for you. That one must have been dropped pretty quickly after it came from the mint. Do you find many other coins from that era in the park?

majority of the silver coins were 1890's to 1940's.
1 barber half 2 walkers.
2 barber quarters 3 slq's
quite a few barber and merc dimes.

Beautiful SLQ.

The X5 is a great coil as I am starting to discover. I have been using the one that came with an ETrac I traded my DEUS for and it does a great job.

That is one pretty lady...I like my 6" EQ2 as well...it does a gret job of sifting through the trash, and pinpoints dead on...

HH,

Yeah does a good job in trash.
I've been doing this large 1903 house with a big yard. The kind of place that looks like it would be great for metal detecting(like old one room school houses do).
Apparently lots of other people in the past thought so too. Have hunted this yard with no success not even a wheat penny, the clad I find is 3" or less.
Last night got in some trash and got a 1907 dime. I guess makes my silver to wheat ratio look good.
