I'am new to metal detecting, it look's like all these new clad pennies are going to deteriorate faster than we can find them
is the goverment going to make out better than we are

I don't know if they are going to make out but the newer pennies go to crap pretty fast. I here it cost five cents to make a new penny!!!

From the land of the Bluenose.....here in Cananda there is talk once again with doing away with the penny and some scuttlebutt about a $5 coin!

Getting rid of the penny sounds fine to me.:wiggle: Having a five dollar coin sounds awesome!:super: As long as folks down here use 'em(and lose 'em so we can find 'em with our detectors). Happy Hunting!:)

How great would that be, digging up five dollar coins!!:clapping:
