New bee needs some help with GTI 2000 battery ?

Hi All,

I just joined this forum because I can see there's lots of knowledgeable people here on this stuff that I know nothing about it.
Recently I've inherited a Garrett GTI 2000, did some reading on this forum, saw about the chip upgrade, don't care about that
right now, just want to have some fun with it.

I don't have a manual, so I downloaded similar (GTI 2500 w/Original Treasure Talk) from Garrett, I didn't see the 2000,
manual, but I think this is close enough.

Anyhow, I have a battery holder question.

NUTSHELL....I don't have the holders, and cant find any ware on the Internet.
Does someone know where I can see & buy them (so I know EXACTLY what they look like)?
I'd like to simply click & buy, but it ain't happening yet.

When I research Garrett batter holder, all I keep getting for hits is battery hip-mount holder. Geez, I'm tired of reading about it.

I could tell, the minute I removed the battery pack cover, that I was missing something because there's no springs for the opposite end of where the
batteries would go and too cavernous to hold AA batteries snug.

Sure enough, the manual specifically mentions holders "eight (:geek: standard, alkaline, or rechargeable AA batteries in holders of four (4) each".

I just need the holders and want them in 10 day's if possible.
Guess I could rig up another form of same power supply some how, but have bigger fish to fry.

If anyone could steer me to a reputable retail site that carries the battery holders for this detector, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks a bunch.

here is what you need, could probably get them free from Garrett.

On the opposite end from the contacts there is a single metal ring, both of these should be towards the center of the holder.

Ok, thanks allot for the contacts, I'm all set. (I really appreciated it.)
Just got lucky with one phone call and have a fist full of battery holders.

Looking forward to playing around with this thing at the beach for a couple weeks.
I guess Sam's club will be coming in handy for some big bundles of batteries.

Thanks again.
