OK so after much thought and mental debate, I did it! Even though I already own a "top of the line machine" I have just read too many good things about this detector and now that Garrett seems to have the bugs worked out I went ahead and pulled the trigger. So I had already read the owners manual, watched a ton of videos and read about every post in this forum when it arrived. I got to get out to an old school for a couple of hours the other day with a hunting buddy who also has a top of the line machine and an ATPro for his water hunting duties. We went over a small section of the yard pretty thouroughly both using our "other" brand top of the line machines. I first did a north to south grid and then went back over the same area east to west. I had gotten a lonely late model Wheat cent and alot of clad pennies through quarters, and a military button. Then I pulled out the ATPro for it's maiden voyage. I started going over the same area and the first signal I got mid 50's reading on the vdi and a good sounding mid-tone, dug a plug and pulled out a smashed childs ring. It was oval shaped but it was a ring that I had missed with the "other" machine and I had gone over that section fom 2 different directions digging all "good" signals, yes even tabs and I had already recovered several nickels. So I went on to find about 7 clad coins that I had missed. I still love the other machine and of course I know you can never find it all but I do believe that at least some of these signals were originally missed not because of carelessness but because of other factors. So I am very impressed with this machine and I plan to hunt with both of them because it can't hurt to hunt the same ground with different detectors as in my opinion they will compliment each other.
