New AT Pro user and question

A buddy gave me his old AT Pro today and I am grateful as can be. I hunted an old area that saw action during the rev war but lots of fill had been dumped there. A friend had an old house moved to install a new foundation and we had an hour and a half to dig. There has also been an old factory next door and the site was loaded with trash. The AT Pro with a small dd coil locked on to targets amongst all the trash and impressed us both. We found a counterfeit seated dime, a big musket ball, wheaties, and some relics. My question is about the tones in Pro Mode. I like the high tones in pro mode compared to the bell tones but I am now receiving bell tones in Pro Mode. Is there a way to change this? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. You got a great detector! One of the "best coin and jewelry shooters" out there. That 5 x 8 coil is a real good coil, as you have found out. A lot of people keep that coil on their detector all the time. That is extremely odd getting a bell tone in Pro Mode? I have never heard of that before? Are you are 100% sure you are not accidentally flipping between programs.....Pro Mode vs. Standard mode? You know when you are in standard mode, as the detector gets quite chatty and more unstable at a high sensitivity with lots of bell tones. The Standard mode is very similar to the Garrett ACE detector. I hope your detector is working properly......Good luck.

Thanks John. It says Pro mode up on the left hand corner but it is indeed chatty. It is interesting because it was working earlier and then it seems to switch over it is one of the original models when they first came out so there could be a glitch but as far as finding treasure it's doing just fine and it was free so if there is issues with it I don't mind but I would prefer to have the other tones all the time. I'll play around with it and post more details if I notice anything else, thanks again and have a great week.

Great point John. I have not tried that yet. Thanks!

The bell tones are nice especially on the older Freedom models. Try running the pro at pro zero mode, iron 19 and two bars down. Good hunting youz!

Thanks Leslie!
