Hello all,

We are finally (as a state) out of a years-long drought, and as a side effect of having this much rain; it seemed like a good idea to try out some new-to-us (but old) ground! Mike and I have had our eyes on this spot for a long time, and recently we decided to test our mettle there.

I didn't post pictures of the trash heap, which dwarfs the good finds as per usual. It took 4 hours to find the first keeper, a 1941 S Wheat at 7" deep. Not long after, I got a vague high-toned hit which returned a solid 96-97 VDI. At just short of the length of the pinpointer - around 8.5 inches - I caught a glint of silver with the Rosie! At this point Mike had dug 2-3 Wheats using the Equinox from 6-8" depths, and we were beginning to get a really good feeling about our decision for trying out "new ground".

Got pretty excited to see the 1914 Wheat come up from the 8" mark, looked and looked but don't see a "D" mint though

We hopefully plan on returning tonight to see what else is in store. I have the 11" x35 coil with WS4 phones, and run 4kHz freq with offsets, depending on what offset sounds the best vs EMI.

Oh so close with the 1914 Wheatie.

Thanks for the post.
