New ACE250 owner

New member
Hello all. Just found the group, and the hobby. After much research and some advice from the local MD club pres. I made the drive to Kellyco and went shopping. Results: ACE250, Sniper coil w/extra shaft, Coil covers for both the coils, Head phones (w/vol. control), Automax Precision4 pinpointer, Carry case, coin pouch, Sand scoop and Garrett Coin Hunting book. All for just at $300.00. Now just have to get out and have fun. First try in the front yard netted me a quarter and also a 4in. long section of copper pipe.

This is going to be a great hobby.

And to think, My wife already say's i am a pack rat. Just wait till she see's what gets brought home now. LOL

Well off to work and then check out the gold panning demo at the local club tonight.

Congratulation on you new super sniffer Ace 250! Your wife won't be griping when you dig a nice ring in her size! Heck she might even start digging for you!

Hi Bill,
Welcome to our great hobby.
Hey with all the extras you got looks like your set up for life with the yella fella. (a great choice)
Oh, a word of warning!
If you take the wife out on your hunts with you, be wary she might get infected with this bug as well.
Then you will have to start buying all the gear again. (for her)
We are both into our 250 Aces and enjoy it very much and the bonuses are, many picnics together as well
as knowing what each other is talking about and also comparing finds.
Best wishes.

Congrats on the ACE 250 . Sounds like you got a great deal and all the stuff you will need
to be off to a great start.
Now comes the exciting part and getting your fair share of the lost loot. :clapping:

Happy hunting and send us pics of your finds.

I have never used my MD before, but I live across the street from a forest preserve here in Chicago, my aunt told me that when she was in the girl scouts back in the 50s they used to have weekend camp-outs there. I know people go and hangout in the woods, I used to do it back in high school. It has running paths, sport fields, and everything, I got my first MD after Thanksgiving (ACE 250, I also got the 9x12 PROformance head for $325 on eBay) I'm going to hit it up once the ground thaws out. Also, I have never seen anybody with a MD in the woods either. So the way I figure, I will have the run of the place!!! If you ever fly into O Hare Airport, look out of the window right before you land, you can see the spot, Des Planies River Forest Preserve. I know from my own personal experience that there is a high amount of beer caps and tabs there (high school), but what the hey. I'm sure I will have a great time getting into this hobby.

Make sure you tell everyone all the good spots. That way when you get there it will be cleaned out. You might want to post a map to make it easier.
