New Ace 350 + Sniper Coil

Miser67

New member
Just got my new Ace 350 with the Adventure Pack (headphones, pouch, coil cover and dust cover) from Kellyco.

I also bought a Sniper Coil which I intend to put on and use immediately.

I prefer small coils for hunting, as I am most interested in finding coins and jewelry at shallow depths.

That kind of hunting appeals to me more than hutning for the really deep stuff.

I wanted something to complement my Tesoro Compadre and I've never used the Ace 350 before, so I wanted to try it.

The Garrett website actually rated this machine over the Ace 250 for coins and jewelry (both were highly recommended under the Ace 350).

Seeing all the great jewelry items people have found with their Ace 250's is really encouraging and I'm anxious to see what the 350 can do over time.

Any tips for the 350 user with sniper coil would be appreciated. Any special quirks I should know about?

I think you'll be very happy with that 350 and find lots of good stuff. My 250 paid for itself in coins the first year I owned it and it found lots of Jewelry. The 350 "is" an upgrade.

Learn both the stock coil as well as the sniper. Sniper is wonderful in trashy areas and close to metal structures. Larger coil to simply cover more ground faster. The 2 coils pinpoint differently. The sniper is trivial, if you haven't previously used a DD before, then the larger stock coil may take a few hours to get used to.

My only tip.... Just turn it on, swing, and dig. It doesn't get easier than the ACE's.

I personally find Jewelry mode a pretty versatile audio mode on the ACE series and remember that when you discriminate "anything" it just disables the audio tones for the notched out segments. ALL targets will still be visually indicated on the upper scale so you only miss stuff if you're not watching.

Happy Hunting

I believe you said you bought the sport package! When I bought mine about 3 years agon I never really was comfortable with the larger dd coil. I was always content using the smaller dd coil. It goes farely deep, I have found plenty of silver with it. I bought the sniper coil also but I often think I am missing that allusive silver coin if I get away from the dd coil. For a trashy area its awesome or getting right up on metal looking for a coin. I also have a Whites machine but the Ace is so nice and light and convenient. Pretty spot on for quarters and dimes and nickels. The zincoln penny jumps around a bit because of that zinc but a real copper penny registers as one. It's fun when you go some place that hasn't been hit before. I pulled close to a hundred dollars out of our high schools athletic field some holes had over a dollar in change in them! I just started digging again haven't done it in over a year. Happy hunting if nothing else you will use the Ace out of the sure convenience.Enjoy your new toy!
