New Ace 250 and new to the hobby

Hello! I just got my new Garrett Ace 250 this week. I bought it from eBay. I always was interested and fascinated by metal detection, but I never got ahead and made the plunge. After doing some research I concluded that the Ace 250 was a worthy choice for a very green beginner.

The day I got it, I just arrived from work and the day was almost over. I assembled it quickly and went in my back yard to try it. I already saw all the you tube videos about how to make it work, so I felt confident of making it work.

After about an hour, I stopped because it was getting quite dark. I did not find any treasures. I am certain of only one thing. The guy who owned my place before me was drinking a lot of beer if the 6 cans of O'Keeffe beer I found at around 6 inches were to judge by.

I also found an oven range grill buried at about 10 inches (my Ace was giving me a signal at 4 inches). At first I tough I have found a chest or something similar as the metal was still very shiny. But as I dug more it became clear it was no chest. When I bought the place 20 years ago, my spouse who believed very hard in Taro card and fortune telling had one of her favorite fortune telling person that our place was hiding something of great value

Very good start I went a couple times with my Ace when I first started before finding anything good . The more you hunt the better you will get as you learn what your machine is telling you . And after awhile you will learn how to tell some of the trash from the good stuff by the signal your getting . It takes time and practice but it only gets better as you go along . Your doing great just take your time and keep your hunts fun that's what its all about .

Good Hunting
