New 8x11 coil test on 6" dime

Just doing some testing with the 8CC and the new DD keep in mind this is my ground hear in Minnesota , it is called the Anoka sand plane sand , and is derived from the outwash of glacial sediments and has a lot of black sand in it its not like culpepper soil but it will cause trouble at depth so I am pleased that at 6" I can get the dime and it seems for sure the 8x11 has better coverage and a better signal . what has really given me an edge tho with the silver umax is the GB mode , as i will show on the next video . so far I am liking the new coil as far as EMI the line i tested over the other day was extreme but defenetly something you may encounter > but it effects all my coils and they all lose depth so its not just this coil , but one thing is my Mirage metal detector had no problem but its a P,I machine so don't get to bent out of shape about EMI , but keep it in mind if your not getting good depth , that may be why . Gunnar, another very good video showing how this new coil performs,it does not seem as heavy as it looks, the weight aspect was one thing that concerned me more than anything as i cannot swing big coils for any length of time these days.

Like your 3030 inspired straight shaft on your Tesoro, the ML version is not as high tech as yours  i use very similar shaft setup on my Pulse machines.

Kind of interesting. First , I am waiting for my replacement coil to come in ( I had received a 5 pin for the Vaquero.)..I decided to try an air test, dime, 7 inches.. Down a bit. Unplugged the stock coil, made a half hearted attempt at cleaning the contacts ,re tightened , measured again, really nice hit at 9 inches on the same dime.. I seem to have some conductivity problems in the contacts. Monday when the 8 by 11 arrives, I'll start a week of testing, and comparing to the standard coil. I think if I can find someone to solder the coil wires directly to the electronics, my frustrations maybe over.. The problem being my hunting is both yards with trash, and fields with less... Another inch or so, and I'm happy..Wondering if you do a test to find those elusive "air coins", get a distance, break the connection, and find an increase in distance when you re tighten..... If so, time to buy some cleaner.... Who sez detectors don't have Gremlins?

Balancing the shaft is key I just did this to my silver Umax and it now weighs like a 1/2 pound machine , Even 2.2 pounds can get to your forearm if out of balance i have done what the CTX 3030 did balance the weight it make a huge difference

Always look forward to watching your videos.
Always interested in seeing what Tesoro can pull out of the hat.
Hope Tesoro sends you a Caz to test in your soils.

more testing -- this time a 7" dime

Balancing makes a big difference even with the Umax units. Larger coils make things worse with a top mounted box, makes the detector feel coil heavy. If you find the spot below the arm rest to mount the box, when the detector is in your hand it will not feel coil heavy or coil light. That way no extra wrist energy is needed to keep swing the coil in a comfortable position.

Here's another trick for you, remove the center rod section and lower rod section. Buy a tall man's lower rod, it will replace the middle and lower rods. Trim it to your correct length, redrill the hole for the spring clip.
You will find its some reduction in weight, not much bit, balances better. If you don't back pack with the need to break down the detector to a small package, you will like the tall man's rod mod.

Mega turned me onto building my own carbon fiber straight shaft set-up and using a Tall man's lower rod. Overall slightly ligher than the above set-up but, handling is improved 100%

When you are cheap skate, a you deserve what you don't find.. When Jabbo and I were hunting the 1700's house in New Jersey, I was pulling cents and nickels out in the 7 inch range with great signals....That was in 2012 (time flies ..Today I buried a dime at six inches, silence .Removed half the dirt, still silence.. The flying vampires just eating me alive...Replaced the three year old battery pack, air distance is now in the 9.5 inch range on Mercury dime., and I think I found my other buried coins including the five dollar gold. Nice crisp pops where they were buried.. Now, I can go out and search a small plot of land belonging to a historical society that had been totally unavailable for over 50 years. Will clean the contacts first...I have to design some sort of rig that is a GO / NO GO unit to monitor battery power. Damn, am I stupid...Have to remind my self of that fact more often.....................

Sven I will look into that , sounds good , any improvement is better
