Hello everyone,
I ordered my first detector yesterday based on all of the good things that many of you said about the Garrett Ace 250. I almost bought a detector when I was a young man but a car became more important. That was over 30 years ago. I had bought a Garrett book, "Successful Coin Hunting" and was ready to buy one, then I turned 16 and was able to drive a car. Priorities changed. Then came my wife and children. Priorities changed again. Now my boys have grown up and it's time to have a detector. Just hope that I'm not too old! Anyway, I know that I'll have many questions for all of you when the Ace arrives. I hope that's alright with everyone. Thanks in advance for your help. Doc

Welcome Doc. Never to late to start. I bought my Ace 250 last May and have done real good. And that's after about 40 years of relic hunting without one. There is still a lot of treasure left out there. Keep us informed of your finds and please post pictures.

Too old? Nonsense! There are guys hunting on this forum who are old enough to be "YOUR" father. You bought a great machine to play catch-up with. If you have been lurking here for a long time, you should already have a great bunch of knowledge on the ACE 250 and how it operates. If you have any further questions/suggestions, please fire away

That's what we're here for and don't worry about your age as it has no bearing. I'm older than dirt and still going after swinging a detector for 44 years. You'll soon wonder why you didn't get one earlier.

Bill

in Ohio are ya???

I'd like to thank all of you for your support. I'm sure that I will need it. I hope that I don't ask too many crazy questions. Later, Doc

I owned an old W.W. II mine detector when I was 17; sold it and enlisted in the Navy a few years later. After that I didn't own a detector until I turned 61, I am 64 now and making up for lost time. I have a detecting buddy and we MD at least 3 times a week. So go out there and have a great time cause times a wasting if you don't.
Your Friend,

I found this dime within minutes of trying out my new ACE 250, in an area which I had hunted many times before.
