Its pouring down rain here in calif by sacramento so alls i could do was read my manual, put the ace together do a little bench testing (works good) and turn it off and wait thats life

Hey Zamora! You live in my neighborhood! I live in Roseville and detect a lot in Citrus Heights and Carmichael also.
A couple of weeks ago I was so fed up with this weather I just made my Ace250 a little more weather resistant with a ziploc bag. Worked great. Also had to try out my thrift shop camera so heres a shot of it all. Don't let this rain get you down. Go Detecting!
Hey. Maybe well bump into one another one day!

Actually I kinda now enjoy detecting in the rain. Not the kind of rain we had to but up with today in the Sac area but a nice calm light rainy day chases all the folks, kids and drunks away and you have the best digging conditions...Its very peaceful and treaputic

Hi Dang, i live in woodland--my brother and his family live in citrus heights hes a JR-or high school teacher over there-- that would be cool to maby detect together sometime im wanting to really learn this 250

Do you ever detect along the Sacramento River and the Delta area where all the striper fishermen congregate? I know I lost some change and stuff there in the sixties. Here's a pic of me holding up some stripers on the bank of the Sacramento River.

Yeah I love striper. We were up there for a spell camped out and ate a lot of fish. Biggest we got was a twenty pounder.

I have detected a few of the established parks along the river but I never actually detected along the edge of it.
Ofcouse with the heavy rains we're having I imagine the river's edge is in the parks by now.

Dang,
I lived in roseville in 1970/71, have you tried hunting Folsom beach. I worked just up the road from their back then. Was LOTS of you ladies going to the beach every day!!

Yeah Zo, that would be fun. Must be a few parks or some schools somewhere between us. McKinly Park in Sacramento is one of Sac's 1st parks. But I'm sure 99% of the old coins were pulled out in the 80's by the 1st metal detecting generation. But I bet a lot of jewelry and bling bling is to be found there still!

I did once and that was just a few weeks ago while the lake was still low. Took about 10 minutes to get to the lake from the parking lot.
While at the lake's low edge I found a lot of the very fist type of pull tabs I think. I also found a 1964 quarter there and a cheap crappy little ring
I ll be sure to go back this summer and work on my tan.

I think if you found silver coins I'd bet I'd be their NOW not after the water comes back to normal level. Yes you will find lots of "junk" but the good stuff is also their

They charge ya 5 bucks to enter the park now! But I did get a few hours of overtime this week. Maybe I'll go today.

On the far left( rain-rain- go away)...just wishful thinking I guess but just one of those things..Yeller feller is a nice lightweight unit and should serve you well..One wonders how they make such a unit with so many features for the bucks....
