New 2012 Canadian $1 coin

Might give you problems if you disc out iron. You'll be leaving them for us trash diggers. New composition of coin, steel with brass plating. Now falls into the low iron range whether lying flat or on edge. Older $1 coins would not disc out until you reach the pull tab or higher range.
Lucky for me I have a multi tone machine and do not disc out the iron.....
haven't found a new $2 coin to test yet.

Hi, I have found a few of the new $2 and $1 coins.
I find they still give an O.K. signal, maybe not quite as well as the older ones.
The new 25c, 10c and 5c are the worst for me.
They give a bunch of tics and scratches, can't cherry pick those as easy as I could before,
especially when they start getting deeper or on edge. The signal nearly disapears.
Definitly a little more of a challenge.

what horrible coins , how we have fallen,
