Is it true Fisher (first texas) has stopped making it ?and you can't get a new one?

Hi,
Own one myself.
With the big coil it sure weighs about as much as a a tank, even though the control box is made out of rather flimsy plastic.
The mount of the control box to the handle is a weak point on the 1270.

one of my best machine besides the 1265X. Chest of hip mount it, best way to kill the weight, swing all day, Velcro strap around the Control box keeps from losing battery doors.
 
Mine kicked butt on deep Civil War bullets. Great relic detector & lots of coil options from the X series units too.
 
I've been looking for a 1270. I loved my 1266x but I couldn't get yuse to the snap, crackle, pop. I don't sdee them for sale very often
