New 1236x

After the open fall seeded hunt put on by the Michigan's Treasure Hunter Club I felt I needed another detector.I used a Cidola and CZ7a,both detectors had their good and bad points. The CZ worked better, probably because I was more familiar with this detector. The contest made me aware of my pinpointing abilities or lack of,which cost time.Anyway I bought a new 1236x and it arrived yesterday.I took it out to the test garden and was surprised by how well it hit on the targets. The nickle target is buried at 5 inches the 1236 hit much harder on this nickle than the CZ.I haven't used it in the field yet.I found an old Train Station Depot foundation which has a lot of iron.Maybe the 1236 will work in this iron infested area? Ron

The 1236 handles large iron as well as small very efficiently. Its one of a very few machines that will pick up coins off the edge of large iron. Read the Ben Myers (I think I got the name right) field test on the Fisher web site. His report is the best I have ever read on the 1236 and I can attest that it is 100% accurate.

The new 1236x cost 319.00 from the big K Company.I saw a used one sell on Ebay for around 360.00.For my use the CZ5, 1236X will probably work fine.If I find a good deal on a 1280x over the winter I'll buy one new or used. By the way the CZ7A(which was owned buy a world famous treasure hunter) is on its way to France purchased by the same gentleman on Ebay that bought the Cibola a week earlier.(small world)First time in the field with the 1236x at a local park that has a lot of trash, but has produced silver coins. The area that was searched,I have gone over with a lot of other detectors. The first hunt yeilded a 1962 silver dime. Ron

Second time out at the same hard hit park.Same routine snap click pop and eventually a round signal. At the end of a three hour hunt 25 coin 1 silver medal 7 wheats 1 1953 silver dime. 2-0-0 for the 1236 Ron

Congrats on the silver!

What part of Michigan are you in?

Tom

Tom,Oxford MI a small town about 12 miles north of the Palace where the Pistons play.My wife and I own a small horse farm Barnanza LLC named after our first horse Trooper Barnanza.Oxford has really grown in the last 5 years taxes are up and land is expensive.Oakland county is one of richest counties in the US,and its going to be very difficult not to cash in and leave.Sorry about rambleing on.
