New 10.5 MF coil arrived today

I got my newest coil today, and quickly attatched it to my XT-50. It has been raining steady all day. The rain let off for a short while, so I took my new coil to the back yard to just mess around a little. I ground balanced and set sensitivity to 20 put detector in program 1 and started swinging to get a feel for the new coil.
I made about a dozen sweeps and I got a good signal. The depth indicated 6 to 8 inches
I dug over 7 1/2 inches and recovered a 1943 merc dime. It started raining again as I was covering the hole. I have been over my backyard many times with different detectors so I was very suprised. Thought my yard was hunted out. Hope it don't rain tommorrow.[attachment 133634 MDfinds2009merc004.jpg]

Don't ya just hate getting a new outside toy, it's like a rain magnet! Looks like in five minutes two keepers, the Merc and the DD coil!

You will love that coil. I swing the 10.5 DD MF coil 75% of the time. If you find it a tad heavy try Doc's Swingy Thingy. You can swing it all day and let the bungee cord do the work. HH TomB

I got the 10.5 DD 7.5 coil about 3 years a go and I just love it. It well find the deep coins for ya.
