Never really intoduced myself

Howdy all, I never really introduced myself to the group. My name is Rod and I have been metal detecting off and on for about 25 yrs. I started with a compass detector in the 70's but in 1984 my house burned down and I lost my detector along with everything else I owned. I didn't detect for a long time as replacing everything else took priority. I got the bug again last year and decided to buy a multi-purpose machine so I got the MXT and have been hunting again since then. I love my MXT and still have a lot to learn about using it. I have been lurking around this forum for some time and using tips that have been posted here. Thanks for being here and I will offer anything that I come up with as I continue to learn. Here is a picture of some of the stuff that has been going into the can. Also a picture of some of the "good" stuff I have found with the MXT. Happy Hunting and thanks again for the help you have given me so far.

Good to hear you too have a MXT, I have one for my wife and I too use it along with my other detectors. I find the MXT is a fun detector to use and myself feel it is by far the best Whites i have used in my 33 years of detecting.
I see by your finds you are doing OK and see where you have a mini shooter too, I find this coil excellent for those trashy sites and seen where the MXT with this little coil kick butt on some of the other detectors when in some of the trashy sites.
Good luck and let us know if there is anything we can help you with as we have a great bunch of people here.

Thanks much for the warm welcome. I love detecting and hope to get out more. I really want to get to somewhere and try some nugget shooting but I will have to do some traveling to get that done. I live in Utah and yes there is gold but it is very small. Thanks to all of you in the forum and as I learn more about the MXT, I will pass it on.

Hey rod I also live in Utah. I have a MXT and a Quattro where about do you live in Utah. I live in the Salt Lake area.

Howdy Maxter, I live near Moab. Where do you guys up in Salt Lake hunt. Have you tried any of the country out around Tooele for gold? I usually just hunt the parks around and once in a while hunt some parks over in Grand Jct. Co. Thanks for the reply. Let me know of some places around SLC and maybe I'll get up there some time. Maybe find some of those Mormon gold coins. They are kind of ugly but still worth a lot.

Hey Rod,
I have mostly been hunting schools and parks I am still kind of new to metal detecting. No I havn't tryed hunting around Tooele yet. As for good spots I am planing one of the local M.D.ing club to try and learn more about my detectors and better places to go. Any gold coin in my eyes would be great. Hope to see you around, Good luck hunting.
