Never Knew Pilipines

I'm only 44 but never knew the US minted a Pilipines US coin....... Found this two years ago detecting park in Buffalo, NY <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">

Yep. Philippine coins have been struck not only by the U.S. Mint in Denver and San Francisco, but also at various times by the Franklin Mint (private U.S.), the British Royal Mint in Llantrisant, South Wales, the Pobjoy MInt (private British), the Sherritt Mint in Canada, and mints in Germany and Spain.
Of course, the Phillipines were a U.S. Commonwealth from 1898 (self-governing after 1935) until 1946, so it was only natural that our mints struck coinage for them.
